IMPACT Initiative

Through the Colorado IMPACT Initiative (Improving Mental health and disability Police interactions and Awareness through Comprehensive Training), which is funded by a grant from the Colorado Fines Committee, PLCT provides statewide training and resources for first responders and individuals with disabilities and/or mental health disorders and their families and caregivers. First responders receive eight hours of training using the IWD curriculum and people with disabilities and/or mental health disorders attend two-hour outreach sessions. Courses for other professionals who spend time with these individuals are also available from PLCT.
